Deborah Madison's new book is really quite good, I love all her writing on the actual veggie plants themselves: it's a kitchen and garden go-between. 

I'll follow her recipe on p. 28 to use up the fennel and spring onions from last week's CSA box, and drop some shrimp on top (thawed from the freezer) for the last few minutes.

Delicious!  I will make this whenever we have fennel in the house. Serve with rice.
