Crockpot Roast over Polenta

Luckily my husband manned the stove while I headed out for Sunday morning book club to discuss Michael Pollan's Cooked. His chapter on braising, and our special guest Samin Nosrat, had me all in a tizzy about slow cooking dinner.

--- After dinner followup:

The pot roast turned out perfectly, after being in the slow cooker for more than 8 hours, and was finished with slightly undercooked polenta that neither of my children would eat. But they loved the meat and tried a little of the salad served alongside. I'll make it again, for sure.
