Chocolate Celebration Cake

Today we are throwing my daughter a birthday party, more than a month and a half late. But she doesn't care - there is a movie with minions and fart jokes, popcorn, presents and a cake loaded with more sprinkles than I've ever seen in one place before. This cake was a ton of fun to decorate. I can't speak for the fun of baking it, because my husband did it.

Everyone seems to agree, this is the best cake Dad has ever made. We were skeptical, because the recipe calls for water in the batter, but go with it - it works out great! And definitely buy more sprinkles than you think you'll need - they go fast.  On p. 81 of Cindy Mushet's Baking Kids Love.
