Plum Cake and Peach Pie - september 1, 2013

Our friends have invited us for a BBQ and all I have to make is dessert. How lucky am I!

This plum cake recipe from Home Baking is one I make every year, many times, with plums from our own trees and CSA boxes. Peach pie was a new adventure, I'm old hat at pie crust but I've never put peaches in one before - I prefer peach crumble. But this worked out great. My kids washed and cut up the fruit, helped roll the crust and made doughies with the leftovers. 

Both turned out great and were gobbled up - it's hard to go wrong when you have great fruit!
