Kale & Cheddar Strata

Buzzfeed suggested this as a make-ahead weekend brunch item, but I made it for dinner instead.
Cut the bread, grate the cheese, cook the kale (I used chard) in the morning or night before. Bring the ingredients out of the fridge an hour or two before you want to cook to give them time to come up to room temperature. Then assemble the strata and give it 45 minutes in the oven.
Strata is a sort of savory, bread-pudding cheesy quiche like dish that uses up stale bread. Most of my family liked this one, we ate the whole thing up in one meal and had no leftovers. That's my kind of dinner!
