Raw Kale Salad with Root Vegetables

Every time I turn around there seems to be another massaged kale salad asserting its healthfulness in my direction. But the truth of the matter is, most of them are pretty tasty. This one, with maple-cayenne roasted pecans and apples is especially delicious. I recommend you try it. You won't even notice the rutabega.
You can find the recipe on p. 276 of Marcus Off Duty: The Recipes I Cook at Home. This salad is good with Dill Spiced Salmon and Coconut Quinoa, rib eyes and corn, mac & cheese or roast chicken. If your kids don't like spicy, leave the cayenne off half of the pecans and apples, but be sure to make some with it for yourself.
